We Care About Saving Your Teeth.

Endodontists are dedicated to saving natural teeth. We specialize in treatments and procedures that can remove the diseased pulp, relieve tooth pain, and allow your natural tooth to function like it’s supposed to.

We are dedicated to using advanced technologies and procedures so our patients have the best outcomes, maintain their oral health, and restore their beautiful smiles.

About Endodontics

Endodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on the inside of the tooth. While the hard, outer layer of the tooth, called the enamel, gets most of the attention because it is visible, the soft tissue inside the tooth is incredibly important.

This soft tissue, called dental pulp, includes the blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissues that help the tooth grow and develop. However, this pulp can become infected or inflamed. Without treatment, the diseased pulp can cause pain, an abscess, or swelling.

Signs and Symptoms of Inflamed or Infected Pulp
If you have any of these signs or symptoms of inflamed or infected pulp, it’s important to see your dentist immediately. They may refer you to Root Canal Specialists of Baton Rouge for specialized care and treatment.
Sometimes, there are no symptoms, but your dentist may identify an issue with your tooth during a regular preventative appointment.

Featured Dental Services

We offer several different procedures that can treat your endodontic needs. Our endodontic specialists conduct a thorough examination to determine the extent of your pulp’s inflammation or infection. We create a personalized treatment plan based on our diagnosis.
Root canal therapy

Root canal therapy is a common endodontic procedure for treating infected or inflamed pulp. Several circumstances can contribute to diseased pulp, including deep decay or trauma to your tooth.

Most root canal treatments last for the lifetime of your other natural teeth. However, sometimes your tooth may fail to heal or still cause pain. In these circumstances, your endodontist may recommend root canal retreatment.

Endodontic Retreatment

Dr. Simon meeting with patient

An apicoectomy, or root-end resection, is the most common type of endodontic surgery. Your endodontist may recommend an apicoectomy if you have persistent inflammation or infection in the tip of the root of your tooth after root canal treatment.
